The North Herts Ramblers’ Dog Walkers are forging a very happy relationship with Ramblers Worldwide Holidays through Paws on Tour Holidays, members and their dogs having visited Hassness on Buttermere last year and booked in for Yorkshire this year and through being able to park at the office in the beautifully restored Lemsford Mill to enjoy a day’s walk to Wheathampstead on June 1st.
Viv Peters was the leader and had planned a beautiful walk through Brocket Park and along the river. It was a seven mile, the first of that length, in our programme but was broken up by a picnic lunch as opposed to our normal Pub Lunch. During the summer we are introducing several longer walks and two evening 4milers to vary our content. A river or stream is factored in to provide fun for the dogs and as on our recent Campton walk the hapless owner of Alfie, who went to his aid, but needed a chain of 3 men to get her out whilst Alfie negotiated the bank quite successfully in his own good time.
It is hoped that we shall enjoy many holidays with Ramblers Worldwide Holidays in the future and it is to that end that 4 of us are to explore the facilities offered
in St.Ives for Group Holidays and investigate the Paws on Tour Option.
