Mountainous Sölden and Vent

The landscape around Sölden and Vent in the Ötztal area of the Austrian Alps offers very good high level walking and scrambling opportunities, and views of more glaciers than anyone could shake a stick at. Superb views and scenery lay all around us.

Austria, Strudel and Rum!

I arrived at Zurich with some trepidation, it being my first holiday abroad on my own.  I need not have worried, as I was warmly greeted and taken care of by one of our wonderful guides (Ursula).

Walking in Austria

Caroline and I needed a holiday – we needed to relax and get fit at the same time – sounds like a bit of an oxymoron but that is what Ramblers Worldwide Holidays do for you….

We were greeted at Zurich Airport by Ursula Dedek, a marvellous lady, who not only exudes enthusiasm but also actually does care about you and your wellbeing.

Upper Inn Valley

I have just returned from a very enjoyable trip to the Upper Inn Valley. I was there four years ago and although I don’t normally go back to the same places time and again I was drawn to go back to Ladis as “C” grade walking is now available there. And I wasn’t disappointed.

Striking Stubaital

Once again July approaches and Paul and I prepare for a six-week spell in the lovely Tirolean valley of Stubaital. Excitement mounts, we know it of old, we’ve had many a holiday there and this is our third year with Ramblers Worldwide Holidays leading Tirolean Summer.

A Walking Holiday in Ladis

I had a wonderful time in Ladis. The weather was great; sunny and hot most days. The two best walks for me were the Anton Renk Hutte, taking the chair lift from Fendelsand walking a beautiful path to a lovely waterfall and then to a high mountain tarn where we all had lunch.

A Luxury Austrian Adventure

I’ve lost count of the number of times I have visited Austria over the years. The earliest trips were to ski resorts, where I tried to learn how to slide down mountains without breaking my neck.

Klosters, a Walkers Paradise

We have led 2 tours to walking holidays to Klosters so far and the Swiss hospitality, wonderful mountain trails and FREE mountain transport (cable cars, gondolas, chairlifts, trains and buses) mean that we are never stuck for ideas for new routes!

Ladis – a truly amazing walking experience

Joining Ramblers Walking Holidays for my first walking holiday was truly an amazing experience, for me personally, as I have never been on a 100% dedicated walking holiday before other than my regular golfing holidays.

Upper Inn Valley Austria

Austria’s Upper Inn Valley proved to be an idyllic setting for my very first Ramblers Worldwide Holidays walking holiday. Unsure of what a D+ holiday really meant, the week designed for “flower lovers” at a slower pace had immediate appeal.
