Trek India And See Spices, Plantations and Hill Stations

Another chance to visit India, and no disappointment.  What a lovely holiday, really lives up to its title!  The spices grow deep in the forest – cloves, cardamom, vanilla and much more – and we were given fragrant vanilla pods by a villager and taught to shoot bows and arrows by another.

Walking on Top of the World

It is now over a month since we returned from our first Ramblers Worldwide Holiday. The fact that it was to India is perhaps the main reason why it has taken me so long to sift through the kaleidoscope of memories, impressions and sensations, to gather together sufficient coherent thoughts and words to express just how wonderful it was.

Spices, Plantations and Hill Stations – a Traveller’s Tale

Sophie Hughes recently travelled with us on a walking holiday to South India, a trip that shows the many faces of India, from teeming cities to glorious lakes and mountains – and everywhere, she was charmed by its people. India is certainly an assault on the senses, and here Sophie has written an elegant and very atmospheric account of her experiences.

Trek in India – From Delhi To The Himalayas

Our adventure started on the first day of this trip to India to visit the Himashel Pradesh region which is situated at the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains. We travelled first by taxi and then by coach to Heathrow Airport to catch our flight to Delhi.

Tigers, temples and trains

My 4th visit to India, third with RWH, but this day beat them all!  Up with alarm call at 5.30 and was 1st down for coffee before leaving for our 3rd, and last trip, into the Ranthambhore National Park. We had almost given up hope of a tiger and went out expecting just more deer, monkeys, and birds –  interesting as they are.
