Highlights of Colourful Cuba
This is an excellent holiday, stuffed full of fascinating things to see and do – so what do I include in this short blog? Or leave out, without writing a 16-page epic?! On this holiday you will cover the island from end-to-end, from the Atlantic to Caribbean coasts, and back again.
Classic South America
We arrived late at night and Rio de Janeiro announced itself, not as the usual vast circle of artificial light, but as swathes of darkness with patches of light crowding round them. Clearly, Rio had more mountains than the two we were scheduled to visit, and equally clearly they were within rather than circled around the city.
The Chilean Birding Adventure
I have always had a hankering to visit Chile with its majestic mountains, deserts, distinctive fauna and flora captured in the longest and thinnest country in South America. To indulge my life long interest in birds and nature in the raw I signed up for this inaugural pioneering holiday, wife included, of course.
The Six Faces of Peru Trekking Holiday
One of the highlights of the trip for me was seeing the condors rise on the thermals in Colca Canyon. The Canyon itself was incredible – deeper than the Grand Canyon – and the walk along the top of the canyon was stunning, but had to be taken slowly due to the altitude!
From Tangos to Icebergs
I have had the very good fortune to take a trip to Argentina and particularly Patagonia. May in the Southern Hemisphere is the beginning of winter, and perhaps not the best month to go so far south. If you take the Ramblers Worldwide Holidays ‘In Patagonia’ holiday you are likely to enjoy some great weather, but Patagonia is stunningly beautiful whenever you might choose to visit.
